Build an outline for a course or other online learning experience.

I admire you for sharing your gifts with others. Whether launching an online learning experience is a new idea or it’s a longtime coming, thank you for deciding to share your knowledge.

We find that a great place to begin this journey is to build an outline for the course. Similar to if you were going to write an essay or a book.

Note: If you find it difficult to make it through the creation of the outline, you may benefit from exercises such as mindmapping and brainstorming. Use those exercises to get it all out of your body. When you empty yourself of the chaos it creates space for contemplation and a new understanding of your work.

Media to Deliver the Course

Think through the ideal way to deliver your course materials based on the learner profile. Does the learner have a hard time reading? Do they prefer text? How might you find these answers?

In the meantime, we recommend always starting by writing the entire learning experience by hand and/or typing on the computer. Once you have the entire course built out, it’s easy to spin it off into different mediums.

Yes, I have written out the first draft of the entire Learning Experience as text for People to test/read as-is for quick feedback from potential customers. I worked through several versions integrating improvements based on feedback.
