School for Worldbuilders

Cooperative Impact is for the person who refuses to accept the world that was given to them. It's for the person who wakes up everyday inspired and excited to be a part of something bigger than themself. They are the independent thinker with their own point of view. They want to meet good people, create meaningful projects, and build companies that change the way we live, work, love, and play. That's what they are all about, and that's what they do here at the school for worldbuilders.

Speaker Agreement September 2015

I. Social Media Policy

  1. EVENT will provide SPEAKER with a pre-approved list of marketing assets, strategies and tactics, quote lists to tweet, graphics to share, and organizations SPEAKER is permitted to contact. If SPEAKER uses any other language to associate themselves with EVENT in a public fashion on any social media platform such as posting an uninvited, unapproved, and therefore unlawful and obtrusive status update on said organization’s public profile, and this posting contains questionable verbiage that may jeopardize the reputation of EVENT and all of our employees, the SPEAKER will be immediately removed from all future EVENTS and proceedings with potential legal action to follow.
  2. Transparency, honesty, dignity and identity. If you engage in conversation about EVENT on any social media platform you must always identify yourself with your legal name and what specifically your involvement with EVENT consists of. If you try to “plant” statements that appear to be from an objective outsider when they are really made by the SPEAKER you must know this is an immediate violation of social media etiquette, it is also a violation of the integrity we expect throughout our organizations – our partners also hold us to these high standards as we do of them. If this happens SPEAKER should expect next steps to involve immediate removal from the EVENT with an unfortunately obvious loss of trust. EVENT wants you to understand how powerful a simple tweet can be in causing one of EVENT’s partner organizations to cut us off from working together.
  3. Be the first to respond to your own mistakes. Once an issue is brought to your attention politely thank them and swiftly handle the situation, and move on. If you edit or modify a mistake you previous made, make it clear to others that you acknowledge the error and you’ve taken precautions to ensure it does not happen again.
  4. SPEAKER must make it clear that you are speaking for yourself and do not officially represent Cooperative Impact or the holding company, Princeton-based nonprofit Action Horizon Institute. Use a disclaimer like this to make it clear: “The postings found on my account are of my own, and don’t necessarily represent the strategies or opinions of Cooperative Impact.”
  5. Be aware of legal liabilities before you spam information onto other organization’s social media profiles without first thinking critically about what the negative impact something like that would have on SPEAKER and worse than that, EVENT.
  6. Exercise caution, judgment and integrity with regard to exaggeration, colorful language, use of copyrighted materials, unsupported assertions, and derogatory remarks or characterizations. If you are unsure about whether a posting may carry risks of personal legal liability for yourself, you may want to consult with your own legal advisor.

II. Conference Policy

SPEAKER will not approach known associates of EVENT with hidden agendas or sales tactics of unknown products which are designed to benefit SPEAKER.

SPEAKER grants permission to EVENT to photo copy and distribute the presentation including handouts and any related materials during the Presentation.

SPEAKER warrants and represents that the Presentation, handouts, and related materials are factually accurate and contain no matter libelous or otherwise unlawful. SPEAKER further warrants that such Presentation, handouts, and related materials are either the SPEAKER’s own original work or, available for use without permission because they are in a public domain, or when materials utilized in the presentation are not the SPEAKER’s own original work or in a public domain, they are either presented with the permission of the originator/owner of the material, or are believed to be within the “fair use” exemption of copyright law which includes use for purposes of criticism, news reporting, commentary, teaching, and research.

The SPEAKER understands that permissions granted to EVENT under this agreement do not prohibit the SPEAKER from using the Presentation including handouts or other materials utilized in the Presentation for EVENT in the future.

The SPEAKER authorizes the EVENT to use his/her name, likeness, photograph, and biographical data in connection with the use and promotion of any aspect of the Presentation including rebroadcast on a “virtual” basis.

SPEAKER agrees to prepare and present at the following EVENT located at:

  • 160 Nassau St, Princeton, NJ 08542.
  • Thursday, September 24th 2015
    8:00am – 4:00pm

III. Digital Signature of SPEAKER

SPEAKER accepts this agreement by digitally signing this page and understand this action is binding on both parties and cannot be cancelled except as hereinafter provided.
